Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

01 What is a “Certified Advanced Esthetician” and what type of client do you offer services to?

A Certified Advanced Esthetician (CAE) is a high-level credential given as an additional license to an already existing esthetics license; this license is only available in a very small handful of US states. CAEs must pass a written licensing exam by the American Board of Laser Surgery, have hundreds of additional hours of education, hands-on training, and ongoing education.

Services at Felix Skin Lab are gender neutral. Any skin condition and persuasion are welcome here. Any person compatible (via the relevant intake forms) with my services may request to book. Those who are minors (18 and under) may have written permission from a caretaker who must be present for the service, no exceptions — thank you for understanding.

02 What states are you currently licensed in?

New York and Oregon state(s), respectively. Washington in the works too.

  • Advanced Esthetics (Oregon)
  • Esthetics (Oregon, New York)
  • Laser Technician & Laser Safety Officer (Oregon, New York)

03 What COVID-19 related precautions do you take in your business? Do you provide oncology-based esthetics?

The esthetics and make-up industries, respectively, have always kept the highest level of hygiene a priority before, during, and after appointments — keeping sanitation and infection control at the forefront of all interactions is inherent in the work. With that said, Felix Skin Lab takes extra steps with HEPA air purification and adequate ventilation used at all times, as well as hospital-grade EPA registered sanitizers and disinfectants before, during, and after appointments. PPE is worn for services, including KN95 and tightly fitting nitrile gloves. I’m also happy to schedule an appointment for the first of the day depending on availability.

With the exception of virtual consultations, all clients (regardless of vaccination status) are required to kindly fill out and submit an online COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire no earlier than 24 hours prior to receiving any in-person services, thank you for understanding. Any rescheduling due to sickness (and letting me know) receives no penalties and is no problem.

On a related note, Felix Skin Lab now offers formally certified oncology-specialized esthetics to support clients through their cancer journey with compassionate and informed care. Please direct any questions or concerns to the contact page.

04 What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellation for any reason made 24 hours or more in advance by contacting by email or otherwise will receive any applicable deposits back in the original form of payment.

However, if an appointment is not canceled at all and the client is a No Call No Show, especially more than once, Felix Skin Lab retains discretion in accepting future bookings from that client and any deposits may be kept. Cancellations because of sickness (with notice, even the day of) are totally okay. Please rest and reschedule.

05 What type of payment do you accept?
  • Cash
  • Tap Pay (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.)
  • Venmo

Please note tips are now included in the rate for each service and are never required, though always sincerely appreciated.

06 Do you accept sponsorships, endorse product lines, or accept payment in any form to promote certain products? Do you ever Photoshop your photos or use AI?

No, I’m not and will not be sponsored. All professional recommendations, products, and product lines that I express support for are at my own direction and are hand-picked. I choose to carry certain professional-only lines such as Circadia and offer a drop-shipping store by proxy, however I am not sponsored in any way. Additionally, any sharing of certain lines on my website or social media does not constitute formal endorsement, and I don’t make specific product recommendations on social media to potential or active clients.

I don’t alter my photos in any way aside from adjusting the contrast or lighting here and there; any pigmentation, fine lines, marks, hair, etc. are all left in all their glory. I also personally choose not to use AI in my business — all writings, graphics, and models are all human-made or humans themselves.
